The War in Afghanistan, History of US Involvement Since 2001 and The Tactical Challenges Today
Why are we in Afghanistan?  What purpose do we intend to achieve?  Why is it, as Obama termed, a “war of necessity”?  Watch the following video clip of the 9/11 attacks.  What I want you to realize is that at the moment you see the planes hit the towers, hundreds of innocent everyday Americans, died.  This isn’t a Hollywood movie, this isn’t just some re-enactment; this is real people, dying.  I don’t know how it makes you feel, but every time I see the impact, I just feel a thud inside me, just this dropping feeling that that many peoples’ lives were ended.

The Raving Republican's News
Raving Republican Lowell (MA) webmaster reports seeing republican ideas gaining popularity in the classroom:

Our Lowell webmaster reported seeing two republican ideas for research papers being presented in class.  One was from a student who had been out to write a report on government aid and in the process found out that a large portion of government aid goes to illegal immigrants and people who own houses, cars, microwaves, refridgerators and generally those who are not really in dire need of government help.  Our own research confirms these facts:
43% of Food stamps go to illegal immigrants
41% of Unemployment checks go to illegal immigrants
60% of HUD properties occupants are illegal immigrants
59% of welfare payments go to illegal immigrants
How is thsi good news?  A college student, a potential future leader of America found these facts and recognizes the problems illegal immigration poses in the US and how the government is not doing anything about it.  Note today's top news pick states that the democrat controlled congress is proposing cuts to programs to help find and remove illegals.

A second research topic was on privatization of Social Security.  The presentation explaining the background exposed social security as the ponzi scheme it is and how most Americans do not expect their Social Security checks to cover costs of living.  The point of the research paper was to advocate being able to use social security payments to privately make your own investment choices.  Liberals argue that this would be dangerous because of the risks associated with stock market investments.  The point to what elderly investors lost this past year, well, if you read "This week's article" you will know that this recession was a direct result of government created ideas.

To sum this up, their are potential leaders of tomorrow that recognize our current problems and that they need to be solved.  If these students exist in the most liberal state in the country, then they exist in others as well, and the future of America is capable of being saved.  2010 elections here we come!
